Announcements and Important Events
Chagrin Falls Spring Sports Families,
In order to keep you informed, I wanted to pass along some information from the OHSAA. This addresses the Spring Sports season, and what is allowed and not allowed. There has been a MANDATORY no-contact period put in place. This means that coaches are able to have communication with student-athletes, but there is no physical interaction, participation or instruction during this time. Along with the no contact period, all school-owned facilities are shut down effective March 17th to April 5th.
In addition, the non-interscholastic rule is in place for any team that has had a scrimmage (Boys and Girls Lacrosse both had a scrimmage). The non-interscholastic rule means you are no longer able to compete for any non-school team in boys or girls lacrosse until the season is over. Compete for means tryout, practice, or participate in any activities with that team. If you do you will not be able to compete for Chagrin Falls when the season continues. If your team has not had a scrimmage yet (Baseball, Softball, Track, Tennis) with another team, you are able to participate with a non-school team but we HIGHLY DISCOURAGE that you do not due to the mandate by the Governor. Non-school teams include summer teams, rec teams, or schools trying to make a rec league or sandlot games. If you are not sure about something please ASK. If you do participate (for the teams that are able), remember for team sports, you must not have more than the following teammates from Chagrin Falls on that team you are participating on:
The tentative plan to return to Spring Sports Activities is:
April 6 – 10 MANDATORY Practices and/or Acclimatization (if required)
April 11 All Scrimmages/Regular Season Contests may begin
Tournaments will remain on dates as currently scheduled
Again during this three week period, we strongly recommend that no one participates for any other team.
Spring sports picture day on March 18th is postponed. We will do our best to try and reschedule if possible.
