Chagrin Falls played its 6th game in 6 days and looked a little tired as they lost a 6-3 game to Solon. Ben Cervelloni started and pitched 3 innings of shutout baseball. Cervelloni gave up 2 hits, walked 1 and struck out 2. Max Faulds pitched an inning and gave up 5 runs on 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out a batter. Faulds took the loss and is now 0-2 on the season. Drew Beckwith pitched an inning of scoreless baseball. Jack Amendola pitched an inning and gave up 1 run on 1 hit while walking 2 and striking out a batter.
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning when Jack Amendola singled to center and stole 2nd base. Cole Newbauer walked. Amendola stole 3rd and scored on Kyle Zaluski’s sacrifice fly.
Solon scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th to take a 5-1 lead. Chagrin scored a single run in the top of the 5th inning when Sam Dolan singled with 1 out. Amendola followed with an infield single to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Dolan moved to 3rd when he tagged on Newbauer’s fly ball to right. Amendola stole 2nd and Zaluski walked to load the bases. Erik Wilson pushed across a run when he walked to make the score 5-2. Chagrin scored another run in the top of the 6th inning. Max Faulds singled and went to 2nd on a passed ball. Faulds moved to 3rd on a ground ball and scored on a Cole Weiss sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 5-3.
Solon scored a run in the bottom of the 6th inning to make the score 6-3. The Tigers loaded the bases with 1 out in the top of the 7th but couldn’t score.
Jack Amendola led the Tigers by going 2-4 with a run and 3 stolen bases. Max Faulds was 2-4 with a run. Chagrin Falls is now 8-4 on the season.
