Chagrin Falls had their 6 game winning streak snapped by Tallmadge 8-2. The Tigers had a promising start by scoring an early run, but the Blue Devils quickly erased the deficit by scoring 6 in the bottom of the 1st. Colin Kennedy started the game and pitched 3.1 innings. Kennedy gave up 8 runs, 2 earned, on 6 hits while striking out a batter and walking 4. Kennedy took the loss and is now 4-1 on the season. Dawson Pierce pitched .2 innings and gave up a hit. Dylan Scheetz pitched 2 scoreless innings and gave up 3 walks while striking out 3 batters.
Chagrin took the early 1-0 lead when Cole Newbauer singled after an out was made. Kyle Zaluski followed with a single to right to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Erik Wilson followed by grounding into a fielder’s choice in which Newbauer was thrown out at 3rd base. Colin Kennedy walked to load the bases. Max Faulds walked to score Zaluski to make the score 1-0.
Tallmadge scored 6 times in the 1st inning and twice in the 2nd inning to take an 8-1 lead. The Tigers didn’t score again until the 7th inning when Jack Kukla singled to start the inning. Matt Sferra’s ground ball out to 1st moved Kukla to 2nd. Kukla scored on Ryan McLain’s RBI double to left field to make the score 8-2.
Jack Kukla was 1-1 with a run scored. Ryan McLain was 1-1 with a double and an RBI. Chagrin Falls is now 14-5 overall.
