Ben Cervelloni pitched a 7 inning complete game shutout to help the Tigers beat West Geauga 8-0 to finish a perfect 14-0 in CVC play.  On a day when the bats were a little quiet, both Cervelloni and his defense were outstanding and in top form.  Jack Amendola saved two runs with an amazing running catch in the gap.  Kyle Zaluski made play after play from his 2nd base position.  Adam Bencko made several excellent plays and a web gem without the web when he used his bare hand to catch a fly ball in shallow left field.  Bencko sprinted after the ball and couldn’t quite get the ball so he reached back and snagged it with his bare hand.  Cervelloni finished the game by giving up no runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1.  Cervelloni is now 4-0 on the season.

Chagrin, once again, scored to start the game.  Jack Amendola led off the game with a walk and then stole 2nd base.  Cole Newbauer walked.  Both runners stole a base to put runners on 2nd and 3rd.  Kyle Zaluski followed with an infield single that scored Amendola to give Chagrin a 1-0 lead.  Newbauer stole 3rd base.  Erik Wilson followed with a sacrifice fly to score Newbauer to make the score 2-0.  Kyle Zaluski stole 2nd and scored on Jack Reboul’s RBI single.  Colin Kennedy walked to put runners on 1st and 2nd.  After the 2nd out was made, Adam Bencko was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Reboul scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-0.

In the top of the 4th, Sam Dolan hit a double to left-centerfield.  Dolan moved to 3rd on Jack Amendola’s ground ball.  Newbauer hit a sacrifice fly to make the score 5-0.  In the 7th inning, Newbauer, Zaluski and Wilson all walked to load the bases.  Newbauer and Zaluski scored on a wild pitch to make the score 7-0.  Wilson ended up at 3rd base and scored on another wild pitch to make the score 8-0.

Jack Amendola was 1-3 with a run, and 3 stolen bases.  Kyle Zaluski was 1-3 with 2 runs, an RBI and a stolen base.  Jack Reboul was 1-4 with a run and an RBI.  Sam Dolan was 1-3 with a run and a double.  Chagrin Falls is now 19-5 overall and finished a perfect 14-0 in the CVC.
