Chagrin Falls had one bad inning that cost the Tigers a chance for a victory. Dylan Scheetz started and pitched very well. Scheetz pitched 4.1 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 earned, on 1 hit while walking 3 and striking out 4. Scheetz gets the loss and is now 7-1 on the season. Jack McMullen pitched .2 of an inning. McMullen gave up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out a batter. Drew Beckwith pitched an inning and did no allow a run. Jack Amendola pitched an inning and allowed 1 unearned while walking 2 and striking out 2.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th, Sam Dolan led off the inning with a single to left. After 2 outs were made, Max Faulds tripled over the 1st baseman’s head down in the right field corner to score Dolan and make the score 1-1. However, the Tigers usually strong defense made a few mistakes in the top of the 5th inning to allow Aurora to take a 5-1 lead.
Chagrin scored a run in the bottom of the 6th inning when Andrew Kirkpatrick doubled to the gap in right-center to start the inning. Will Tropp came on to run for Kirkpatrick and moved to 3rd on a wild pitch. Dawson Pierce followed with a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 5-2. Aurora scored 1 final run in the top of the 7th to make the score 6-2, which is how the game ended.
Max Faulds finished 2-3 with a double, a triple and an RBI. Chagrin Falls finishes the season at 21-7.
