Girls JV Fall Cheerleading
I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy! As we all know, everything for the upcoming school year is up in the air. I wanted to let you all know that Mrs. Wouters and I have been working on various ways to have tryouts for next year.
Our preference is to have live tryouts. We have come up with a safe and sanitary alternative to our regular way of trying out. The unfortunate thing is we do not have an approved timeline from the school as of yet. I hesitate to even give a possible time frame as everything is so fluid. I know some of you are planning vacations and at this point please make your plans. Even if we are approved to have the safe, live tryouts that we would like, we will always offer an alternative zoom tryout for those who are not comfortable with live tryouts, or for those who may be out of town.
I appreciate everyone's patience with this. My hope is that we will have sports and cheer next year, but as we all know we will need to prepare for big changes. I do not know if we will have to make changes to the size of our squads, how we practice or how we are transported to games.
I will say that all students trying out should make sure they know the material. Everything has been posted on the cheer athletic site since the shutdown. I will try to give as much notice of the tryout date as possible. There could be the chance that it's scheduled last minute so not knowing the material will not be an excuse. I've reduced the amount of material needed for tryouts to one chant, one cheer, dance and jumps. Make sure you know all material that was taught and is posted just in case. All videos are posted under either JV football or Varsity football videos on the athletic site.
If you know of a student wanting to try out who is not on this email list, please let me know the student's contact information and I will contact them. Or if you have a child coming from the middle school as well, feel free to forward this to any middle school parents whose child may be trying out. I don't have that contact information right now, but I will be posting this on the athletic site as well. If your plans have changed and you are not planning on trying out please let me know so I have a better idea of numbers.
Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns.
